I Cat On Peepal Leaf To Keep The Ancient Art of Life

Sandesh S. Rangnekar I learned the art from my father Sadashiv G. Rangnekar recognized artist. I see art and beauty in every aspect of life and nature. I found the media Peepal Leaf is very different and interesting. This art form is of ancient India and very few practicing artists and therefore want to keep this art alive.

To make the leaf frame itself takes 30-45 days and require a lot of patients. Especially I felt challenged to do a portrait on the leaves. Detailing must be very accurate to obtain such a person. It takes one day to complete one painting.

Doing the Mona Lisa is a very difficult task because of the size of the leaves are 6-7 inches and to capture the smile and the expression is not at all easy. But this gave me the confidence to do the portrait.
